Morocco and Algeria parted at one apiece: Kautar Azraf had opened the scoring in the thirty-seventh minute, Lina Boussaha equalized in the eighty-third. From the spot, Algeria won three to two.

The podium therefore escapes the host nation, fourth in its own tournament after losing its semi-final to Cameroon. Algeria climbs onto the continental podium for the first time in its history.

Two shootouts were enough to deny the host country a final and then a podium. The rest, this team had already won.
