orocco received 15.7 million tourists in the first nine months of 2026, 5% more than in the same period of 2025 and more than 717,000 additional arrivals, according to a statement from the Ministry of Tourism, Handicrafts and the Social and Solidarity Economy carried by MAP on October 8. September alone passed 1.5 million arrivals, up 8% year on year. The ministry sees this as proof that the destination keeps its momentum beyond the summer peaks.
Minister Fatim-Zahra Ammor sets the horizon: “The 26 million tourist mark in 2030 is closer than ever. The challenge now is to pursue this trajectory by generating more value, jobs and opportunities across all our territories.” At the end of August, the count stood at 14.1 million arrivals, up 4.5%: September therefore picked up the pace. It remains to be seen what the last quarter, carried by the winter season in Marrakech and Agadir, will add to the year’s tally.
