Oulmes: Revenue Climbs to 1,620 Million Dirhams as Consolidation Entries Cut Profit

T

he board of directors of Les Eaux Minerales d’Oulmes met on September 15, chaired by Mohamed Hassan Bensalah, to approve the parent-company and consolidated accounts at June 30. The bottler from Tarmilate reports parent-company revenue of 1,620.2 million dirhams, up 8.8%, and consolidated revenue of 1,653.9 million, up 8.7%: the older brands are gaining ground, the newer lines are scaling up, and the company credits that growth to its innovation effort, to the reorganization of its distribution network and to industrial efficiency gains. Parent-company operating profit follows, at 100.9 million dirhams against 92.5, or 9.1% better, and parent-company net profit comes to 36.1 million, up 8.9%.

It is on a consolidated basis that the machinery reverses. Group operating profit falls 8.2%, to 97.3 million dirhams, and net profit attributable to the group drops to 20.5 million against 31.8 a year earlier, a decline of 35.7% that the company attributes to consolidation restatements rather than to trading. The half would therefore be one of divergence: business up by nearly 9% and attributable profit down by more than a third. The company uses the same statement to line up its certifications, the GEEIS label obtained this year, the CGEM corporate responsibility label renewed and carrying its trophy, and ISO 50001 certification of its energy management. Founded in 1933, listed on the Casablanca Stock Exchange since 1943, employing more than three thousand people across seven production sites and present in sub-Saharan Africa through its Beninese subsidiary E.T.E., the Holmarcom group company promises to keep pressing on innovation and on its distribution network.
