V

ivo Energy Maroc and Myher Holding announced on October 31 that their joint venture Sopetrole now runs 40 Shell service stations in the Southern Provinces, three times as many as when it was founded in 2019.

The network covers Laayoune, Dakhla, Boujdour, Es-Smara, Akhfennir and Tarfaya, along with the road from Bir Gandouz to Guerguerat. The stations also carry Shell Select shops, lubricants and car services.

According to the two partners, the expansion has created more than 850 jobs since 2019, all filled locally, and its building sites employ firms from the region.

Vivo Energy Maroc distributes Shell fuels and lubricants in Morocco. Myher Holding, an industrial group based in the south, works in cement, concrete, logistics, shipbuilding and hotels.

Sopetrole, which had 13 stations according to its managing director Tarik Barakat, will thus have opened 27 in a few years.
