Fes Stadium: SGTM Wins the First Upgrade Lot for More Than 2.8 Billion Dirhams

T

he Societe Generale des Travaux du Maroc (SGTM) has been selected by the National Agency for Public Facilities (ANEP) to carry out the first lot of the upgrade of the Fes sports complex, one of the projects under way ahead of the 2030 World Cup. Its bid stands at 2,825,100,670.80 dirhams including tax, against a single rival, the consortium of Entreprise Moussadak Bouchta and Inter Tridim, which offered 3,151,650,079.80. The bid evaluation committee completed its work on October 2. The lot covers removal works, structural work, waterproofing, the steel frame, surfacing, false ceilings, joinery and painting.

The contract completes the package ANEP set in motion at the end of September, when it put two other lots, electricity and fluids, out to tender for more than 1.5 billion dirhams. The first lot, by far the heaviest, shows the scale of the operation: it is the stadium itself that is being reworked, not only its equipment. The kingdom’s spiritual capital will thus have, in its turn, a stadium cut out for the World Cup.
