Copper: Morocco Strategic Minerals Sells Its Quebec Asset to Focus on the High Atlas

rom Montreal, on September 3, Morocco Strategic Minerals Corporation announced the first closing of a revised agreement with Visible Gold Mines: the company sold 51% of its Sakami property in Quebec’s James Bay region for one million common shares of the buyer.

The remaining 49% will follow at a second closing, conditional on shareholder approval expected in December, for three million further shares and a 1% net smelter return royalty.

The reason takes one line of the release: streamline the portfolio and concentrate capital and management on the Moroccan assets. Those form the Western High Atlas district, with Ouneine, Tanfit and Ijoukak.

The sampling published on August 20 returns 5.74% copper and 39 grams of silver per tonne over 2.1 meters in Ouneine’s Gallery A and, at Ijoukak, eleven samples all above 1% copper.

Management says it wants to start drilling as soon as technical validation, permitting and access allow. That is what will say what these old mountain workings are really worth.
