Jorf Lasfar: Marsa Maroc Wins the 8 Bis Oil Berth for Thirty Years

T

hirty years of concession for 71 meters of quay: following a tender launched by the National Ports Agency, Marsa Maroc has been named concessionaire of oil berth 8 Bis at the port of Jorf Lasfar. The national operator will handle its design, financing, construction and equipment, then its commercial operation and maintenance.

With a 16.5-meter draft, the facility will add 4.6 million tons per year to the port’s liquid-bulk handling capacity, with service planned for the first quarter of 2029. Enough to keep pace with national demand for petroleum products that will not stop growing, and to cement the historic operator’s place in the segment.
