arrakech recorded 8.27 million overnight stays in its classified tourist accommodation establishments by the end of July 2026, up 10% year on year, the Tourism Observatory reports. The Red City alone accounts for 32% of all overnight stays sold in the Kingdom over the first seven months of the year, with an occupancy rate of 70%, one point higher than a year earlier. In July alone its establishments passed 1.1 million overnight stays, 11% more than in July 2025, and the monthly occupancy rate stood at 63%, also up by one point.
Nationally, the same establishments totaled 25.85 million overnight stays by the end of July, up 8%, for an occupancy rate of 56%. The two curves do not tell the same story: the country’s average is rising, but Marrakech is what lifts it, and close to a third of the overnight stays sold in the Kingdom are sold in a single city. That concentration is at once a commercial strength and a fragility, for it establishes a world destination while exposing the rest of the hotel network to the swings of one marketplace. The tourism roadmap is betting on widening the map; these monthly readings will say, season after season, whether the bet will have been held.
