Outsourcing: Teleperformance’s Moroccan Holding Notifies Full Takeover of Unifitel

M

orocco’s outsourcing market has tightened by a notch. The Competition Council made public on September 3 the summary of an operation in which Majorel Africa takes exclusive control of Unifitel by acquiring 100% of its capital.

The acquirer is a securities-holding entity belonging to the Teleperformance group. The target handles customer relations, after-sales service and collections for financial services. Third parties have until September 14 to file observations.

The summary names the acquirer, the target and the sector, and leaves the seller, the price and the fate of the workforce in shadow. That is where the operation will be judged, for outsourcing is one of the few trades in which the Kingdom sells Europe skilled labor rather than goods.

The Council’s decision will be published, as are all those it hands down under law 104-12.
