The day before, in the semifinal, Egypt had crushed them 44-12. Their run had nevertheless begun without a slip: wins over Rwanda and Libya, first place in Group C, then a quarterfinal won against the host nation, Ivory Coast.

Above all, the bronze is worth a ticket. The tournament’s top five will represent Africa at the 2027 IHF Men’s U19 World Championship, planned for North Macedonia.

Egypt, unbeaten, beat Tunisia 28-25 in the final for a fourth straight title. Morocco’s generation will have a year to close the gap measured in the semifinal.
