Tourism: GNV and the ONMT Seal a Three-Year Partnership in Marrakech

M

eeting in Marrakech from October 2 to 4 for the seventh edition of its GNV Awards, the MSC group’s ferry company formalized a three-year partnership there with the Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT), covering 2027 to 2029. The agreement provides for joint promotion of the Kingdom in the main European markets, cross campaigns on both partners’ channels, and offers combining the sea crossing with stays in Morocco, aimed at European travelers and at Moroccans living in Europe alike. GNV also presented its figures for the first nine months: some 2.2 million passengers and 1.84 million linear meters of freight, up 2% and 5% year on year, with Morocco itself staying close to its 2025 levels.

The gathering, attended by some one hundred and twenty travel agency representatives, was also used to name the next four ships of the fleet, powered by liquefied natural gas and under construction at the Guangzhou Shipyard International yard in Canton: GNV Jupiter, GNV Mars, GNV Venus and GNV Mercury. The first of them, with room for 2,500 passengers, 3,500 linear meters and five hundred cabins, is due to join the fleet by the end of 2027. These are the ships the company will bring to the life of the agreement, in a Moroccan market that its chief executive, Matteo Catani, counts among GNV’s most dynamic and strategic.
