Aerospace: Matis, APS Coating and Mecapole Pledge 950 Jobs at the Marrakech Air Show

O

n the second day of the Marrakech Air Show, October 8, Morocco’s Ministry of Industry and Trade signed three memoranda of understanding with aerospace manufacturers, adding up to 950 direct jobs, according to MAP.

Matis Aerospace undertook to expand its aircraft electrical wiring unit with nearly 16.5 million dollars and 750 direct jobs, nearly eight in ten of the total.

APS Coating would set up a surface-treatment unit, investing 18 million euros for 120 jobs, and Mecapole would expand its machining of parts for airplanes and helicopters, for 10 million euros and 80 jobs.

They remain memoranda for now: their text has not been posted, no commissioning date has been made public, and the reported locations differ from one outlet to the next.

These pledges will tell in the coming months whether they become workshops.
