Defense: Oshkosh Receives a Second Moroccan Order for Fifty HET A1 Tank Transporters

T

he American manufacturer Oshkosh Defense, part of the Oshkosh Corporation group, announced on Monday, October 5, a second order for the Royal Moroccan Armed Forces, placed as a direct commercial sale through Optimum Vehicle Logistics, its exclusive distributor in Morocco, based in Milwaukee. It covers fifty HET A1 (Heavy Equipment Transporter) heavy tractors and fifty MN573 semi-trailers, designed and built with the Dutch firm Broshuis, along with the parts, services and training that come with them. The manufacturer says the first tranche of HET A1s, from an order announced in September 2024, has already been delivered and is now in service.

The HET A1 is built to move an army’s heaviest equipment: battle tanks, recovery vehicles and self-propelled artillery, which are spared long journeys on their own tracks. Oshkosh places the order within the modernization of the Royal Armed Forces’ mobility, meant to let them reposition combat power, sustain their armored formations and carry critical equipment from one theater to another. Neither the value of the contract nor the delivery schedule has been made public. These fifty sets will join those already on the road, and the Kingdom’s whole armored logistics will gain reach from them.
