lassified tourist accommodation logged 30.9 million overnight stays over the first eight months of 2026, 8% more than a year earlier, according to the Tourism Observatory.
The national occupancy rate stands at 57%, one point higher than over the same period of 2025.
Rabat posts the sharpest rise in overnight stays, at 18%, ahead of Ouarzazate at 16% and Casablanca at 11%. Agadir is up 10%, Marrakech 9%, Tangier, Fes and Errachidia 7%.
Border posts recorded more than 14.1 million arrivals from January to August, up 4.5%. Classified overnight stays are therefore growing faster than entries.
Travel receipts reach 97.9 billion dirhams, up about 10% on a year earlier. They are growing faster than overnight stays and arrivals.
