igures from the Ministry of National Territorial Planning, Urban Planning, Housing and City Policy, released on Monday, October 5, 2026, showed a cement market back on the move in September. In that month alone, 1.46 million tonnes were delivered, against 1.22 million in September 2025, a jump of 19.31%. The acceleration was enough to firm up the year’s tally: at the end of September, cumulative deliveries reached 10.99 million tonnes, against 10.86 million a year earlier, up 1.17%.
The breakdown by outlet sketched a two-speed market. Infrastructure led the way, with deliveries up 19.49% since January, followed by ready-mixed concrete (+8.62%), while building held almost steady (+0.87%). Distribution, the sector’s largest channel, fell 2.75% to 5.79 million tonnes, as did precast products, down 7.21% to 1.04 million tonnes, and mortars (-4.96%). The final quarter will tell whether September’s momentum holds.
