angladesh’s cabinet committee on government purchase approved on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, in Dhaka, the import of 40,000 tonnes of diammonium phosphate (DAP) from OCP Nutricrops, the fertilizer arm of the OCP group. At its forty-eighth meeting, chaired by Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury, the committee cleared a proposal from the Ministry of Agriculture, placed through direct procurement under the government-to-government agreement that binds the Moroccan supplier to the Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation. The tonne is priced at $866, for an estimated outlay of 4.28 billion taka.
The price marks a drop from the DAP lot the same committee approved on September 2, at $894 a tonne. Dhaka, which relies on these deliveries to keep its farming seasons supplied, keeps adding direct orders with the Moroccan group as its needs come into focus. At this pace, Bangladesh will remain one of the steadiest outlets for OCP’s fertilizers.
