rench group Thales has been selected by Royal Air Maroc to supply its pilots with AvioBook Flight, an electronic flight bag developed by its AvioBook subsidiary, under a five-year agreement announced on October 8 in Marrakech, on the sidelines of the air show. The tool digitizes crew procedures and supports them across the whole flight cycle, before departure, in flight and after arrival; the group expects it to improve fuel management, shorten turnarounds and lighten the workload of pilots and ground staff alike. The value of the contract has not been disclosed.
The agreement extends a long relationship: Thales already works with the national carrier on in-flight entertainment, maintenance and cybersecurity, and credits AvioBook, with more than ten years of experience, with seventy airline customers worldwide. For Yan Levy, CEO of Thales in Morocco, the contract reflects the group’s long-standing commitment to the kingdom. The electronic flight bag will thus follow the growth of a fleet RAM intends to take to two hundred aircraft by 2037.
