he national carrier will rejuvenate the interiors of its oldest long-haul jets. Royal Air Maroc and Boeing signed on Thursday, October 8, on the sidelines of the Marrakech Air Show, a partnership agreement to renew the cabins of the fleet’s seven Boeing 787-8s, according to MAP. The agreement was signed by Naoual Ait Hammou, head of flight operations at RAM, and by Fahad Al Mheiri for the American planemaker. The work covers new seats, an upgraded in-flight entertainment system and Starlink internet connectivity, according to details from the airline reported by Medias24 and Morocco World News.
These seven aircraft make up, with six Boeing 787-9s, the carrier’s long-haul fleet, the one linking its Casablanca hub to New York, Los Angeles, Sao Paulo and Beijing. The stated aim is to bring their comfort in line with the long-haul aircraft that entered service more recently; neither the cost of the program nor its schedule has been made public, however. The work will thus join the Starlink program RAM unveiled this week, and passengers on its longest routes will be the first to feel it.
